McGuireWoods Dallas partner Cynthia Guerin will join Wells Fargo in June 2020 as Senior Company Counsel.
“I am very excited to join Wells Fargo’s enterprise litigation team to manage complex litigation and reunite with friends and former colleagues. Despite my excitement, my decision to leave McGuireWoods is bittersweet,” Guerin said.
Guerin joined the firm’s Complex Commercial Litigation Department in 2017, bringing significant litigation experience across consumer and commercial lines of business, including retail operations, debit and credit card, online banking, mortgage and intellectual property matters. At McGuireWoods, Guerin has concentrated her practice in financial services litigation, financial regulatory investigations, complex commercial litigation and fiduciary litigation matters.
Guerin also played a central role in pro bono and diversity efforts for the firm by serving as the regional chair of McGuireWoods’ Women Lawyers Network and as the Dallas partner in charge of pro bono.
“We are sad to see Cynthia leave us and wish her well. She has been a great partner and mentor for so many of our lawyers. We look forward to working with her in her new role as in-house counsel at Wells Fargo,” said Robert Muckenfuss, chair of the firm’s Complex Commercial Litigation Department.
“I have worked with McGuireWoods lawyers, both as a member of the firm and as outside counsel, for a large part of my career, and I have many close friends here,” Guerin said. “I look forward to the opportunity to continue to work with the firm in my new role.”
