Journalist Ellis Cose Discusses Book At NYCLA Event
The New York County Lawyers’ Association hosted a book signing and discussion on June 23 with journalist/author Ellis Cose (center), who discussed his latest book, The End of Anger: A New Generation’s Take on Race and Rage, whichtracks the diminishment of black anger and investigates, in Mr. Cose’s words the“generational shifting of the American mind.” Pictured with Mr. Cose is Catherine A. Christian, event chair and past president of NYCLA, and NYCLA president Stewart D. Aaron. Mr. Cose and the Hueman Bookstore in Harlem donated a percentage of the evening’s sales to NYCLA’s Summer Minority Judicial Internship Program, which promotes equal opportunity by giving law students of color the opportunity to complement their law school career with paid summer judicial internships.NYCLA’s Minorities & the Law Committee, the Metropolitan Black Bar Association, Association of Black Women Attorneys, LatinoJustice PRLDEF and NYCLA’s Law & Literature and Library Committees sponsored the event.
