On Wednesday, October 12, the New York City Bar presents Judges Under Fire: Human Rights, Judicial Independence, and the Rule of Law. The event is being held at the New York City Bar Association at 42 West 44th Street in New York City, and it starts at 6:00 p.m. and ends at 8:00 p.m.
United States District Judge Harold Baer Jr. will discuss his new book, Judges Under Fire: Human Rights, Judicial Independence, and the Rule of Law, which warns of the dire consequences to justice when the judiciary is robbed of its ability to rule fairly and impartially by repressive regimes or self-serving political entities. The program begins with a reception followed immediately by book discussion, questions and answers and book sale and signing for those interested.
