Faegre Drinker announced today that Eli Burriss has joined Faegre Drinker’s litigation group as partner in the Dallas office. Burriss joins from an international law firm where he was a partner and head of commercial litigation.
Burriss is the fourth partner to join the Dallas office in the past year and his addition further bolsters the firm’s growing litigation team. The firm’s Dallas office recently relocated, allowing Faegre Drinker to continue the path of upward growth and innovation in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Burriss has significant experience representing clients in trials and complex commercial litigation, with particular emphasis on Employee Retirement Income Security Act, health insurance, class actions and antitrust cases. He has tried numerous jury and bench trials to successful conclusion, served as lead counsel in many domestic and international arbitrations, and defended clients in investigations and enforcement proceedings brought by federal and state authorities. Burriss represents many Fortune 100 health care providers and insurers in a variety of litigation, such as member disputes, responses to state regulatory inquiries, ERISA benefits and class action cases, provider arbitrations, affirmative antifraud matters, and qui tam litigation.

Burriss will represent clients in all phases of litigation, across a variety of industries, including agriculture, health care, insurance, manufacturing and high-tech / intellectual property disputes. He will also defend clients in allegations of unfair competition, breach of fiduciary duty, deceptive trade practices, breach of contract, vicarious liability, product liability and tortious interference with contractual relationships.
Burriss earned his B.A. from Stanford and his J.D., cum laude, from Southern Methodist University.
