The Delaware State Bar Insurance Services, Inc., a subsidiary of the Delaware State Bar Association, presented a check for $110,000 to the Combined Campaign for Justice to support the three legal aid agencies for which the Campaign annually raises funds: Community Legal Aid Society of Delaware, Delaware Volunteer Legal Services, and Legal Services Corporation of Delaware.
The presentation was made at the Delaware State Bar Association’s Open House held on Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at the DSBA’s new offices at The Renaissance Centre, 405 N. King Street, Suite 100, in Wilmington, Delaware.
DSBIS director and president, Charles McDowell, said, “For those of us who have worked with DSBIS since its inception, it is very fulfilling to see its promise being realized; that is, being able to provide substantial financial support for both the DSBA and for legal services to low-income families through the Combined Campaign.” DSBA president Theresa V. Brown-Edwards echoed that sentiment stating, “The Delaware State Bar Association has been a partner and champion of the Combined Campaign for Justice since its inception in 1999. We are thrilled that DSBIS is able to contribute so heartily to the Combined Campaign for Justice.”
2013 Campaign co-chair Diane Zilka, added, “This $110,000 contribution is a fantastic kick-off for the 2013 Campaign whose mission is to fund access to justice for under-privileged Delawareans. We hope DSBIS’s and the DSBA’s leadership sets an example for the entire Delaware legal community.”
