Bobby Cook Joins King & Spalding as Partner

King & Spalding announced today that Bobby Cook has joined the firm as a partner in its Real Estate and Funds practice group. Cook is based in the firm’s New York office.

Cook’s practice focuses on representing banks, real estate private equity funds, debt funds, insurance companies and other lending institutions in connection with the origination, disposition, acquisition and restructuring of mortgage and mezzanine debt across all asset classes, as well as “back leverage” for such mortgage and mezzanine debt.

“Bobby is a bright, ambitious lawyer with great technical skills and is a ‘known quantity’ to us, having worked with members of our practice in the past and earning an impressive reputation for knowing how to get deals done,” said Erik Andersen, co-leader of the firm’s Real Estate and Funds practice group. “He will be an immediate asset to existing and future client relationships for our Real Estate and Funds team.”

Cook joins King & Spalding from Arnold & Porter, where he was a partner. He earned his J.D. at the New York University School of Law, his M.B.A. from Oxford University’s Saïd Business School and his undergraduate degree from Rutgers University.

“I’m excited to be part of this robust and growing Real Estate and Funds team and to be able to build my practice on King & Spalding’s broad platform,” said Cook. “The firm’s team-oriented approach and vision for the future are impressive, and I look forward to contributing to both.”
