Snell & Wilmer is pleased to announce that attorney Andrew P. Young has recently joined the firm’s San Diego office as a partner in the Commercial Litigation practice group.
Young focuses his practice on internal investigations, white-collar criminal defense and commercial litigation. In addition to representing individuals and companies facing government scrutiny, he also has extensive experience representing clients in complex litigation, involving commercial, antitrust, business torts and disputes, and products liability matters.
Prior to joining Snell & Wilmer, Young was a partner at Barnes & Thornburg LLP in San Diego. Before returning to private practice in late 2020, Young served as an Assistant United States Attorney with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of California and the U.S. Department of Justice’s Tax Division in cases involving corporate fraud, money laundering, public corruption, RICO violations, bankruptcy fraud, and tax fraud. While at the Department of Justice, Young was the lead prosecutor on “Operation Trojan Shield,” an international effort coordinated by the United States Department of Justice and the FBI to combat Transnational Organized Crime through the infiltration of encrypted communication systems.
Young was named by The Best Lawyers in America® for Criminal Defense: White Collar in 2023 and 2024, and led the team that received the FBI Director’s Award for International Operation. He received his J.D. (cum laude) from University of Minnesota Law School — where he was the editor of the Minnesota Journal of International Law— and his B.A. degree from Georgetown University.
