Is artificial intelligence better at bullsh*tting than humans? Given some of the people I have met in my lifetime, I can't believe that is the case. In their paper, "ChatGPT Is Bullshit," Michael Townsen Hicks, James Humphries, and Joe Slater, researchers at the University of Glasgow definitely think LLMs have issues with the truth. But in his post this morning, David Weinberger, disagrees - sort of. He thinks AI's issues are not quite the same as human BS-ers.
